The shadow, sorry self

you know yourself to be

is a made-up you.

A figment based on history,

memory and the lies

you have been told.

Have you not glimpsed

the glory of your own being?

Have you not dissolved

into eternity and known yourself

as infinite and full of light?

Has ecstasy not looked

back at you in the mirror

of your own soul?

Don't be fooled

by the shadow self,

so seemingly real.

In the blazing brilliance

of your true nature

all such shadows disappear.
